This book offers an attempt to defend and promote one of the primordial plants of nature, the einkorn. The author also insists on the return, as far as it is possible, to the fruits of the earth, which combine the original balanced proportions of nutrients and energies.
Thus, the book in envisioned as a vehicle to assist in the effort of bringing back the light to our bread. This light has dimmed out in our contemporary, technologically produced breads made of all types of wheat breeds. Once upon a time, people depended on the “sunshine” food of primordial plants and before reaching out for their bowls they tuned up their inner light through prayer.
Today we feel no need for such fine tuning, perhaps because our food consists mainly of hybrids with dimmed light. Penetrating us, it joins our dull, darkened and gloomy aura and deposits its even lower vibrations into it. It is the daily coupling of these two chiaroscuros that sustains life in our shadowy civilization.
